Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
The Rental Agreement
Each scooter rental booked through Phuket Scooter Rentals is a contract between you (the renter) and the verified local shop that supplies the scooter. Skoot acts as a booking platform and escrow agent. We do not own the vehicles, but we vet every shop on the platform and we hold your refundable deposit ourselves, in escrow, until the rental is closed.
Damage Claims
If a shop believes the scooter was damaged during your rental, they must submit a claim to Skoot with timestamped photos and a fair repair invoice from a Honda or Yamaha dealer. You will be notified through the app and given the opportunity to dispute the claim. Skoot reviews the evidence and decides what (if anything) is deducted from the deposit. The shop cannot unilaterally seize your deposit or hold your passport.
Rider Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid motorcycle licence from your home country together with an International Driving Permit (IDP) that covers the engine size of the scooter you book. Riding without an IDP in Thailand is illegal, voids any insurance, and may result in a police fine. Helmets are mandatory by Thai law for both rider and passenger at all times.
Your Responsibilities
You agree to ride sober, obey Thai traffic law, return the scooter on the agreed date with the same fuel level, and report any accident or breakdown to Skoot support immediately. You are responsible for any traffic fines, tolls, or parking violations incurred during your rental period.
Cancellations
Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before pickup. Inside the 24-hour window, the first day of the rental is non-refundable. No-shows forfeit the first day's charge.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Phuket. Questions: [email protected].
